What SWR meter are you using? Most CB meters are good for 25-30 mhz only. That said, often if you can calibrate the meter for a frequency, it's close enough.

Anyway, interesting test..if I still had my Imax, I'd try to duplicate that with one of my meters.

Yeah but WHY is it so broadbanded is what you have to ask yourself. My doorknob is really broadbanded with my tuner.

My imax has a vswr below 2 from 19.2mhz to 28.8mhz with the exception of 24.5mhz-26mhz where the swr goes up to a 3 roughly.

So thats an 8mhz bandwidth with just the electrical length of the antenna and NO antenna tuner activated! when going lower than 19.2mhz the vswr goes sky high which is expected of course...the meter is working perfectly fine! All I can think is the full length of this collinear antenna is being used as a half wave dipole at the lower frequencies around 22mhz so possibly the vswr is good down there but the gain only 1 or 2db compared to 10db at around 26-28mhz.

Neverthless what a good bandwidth eh! anyone else experienced this?

OK, yeah that should be fine. I just had to make sure. BTW, that antenna is a 1/2 wave on 15 meters. That's why it looks good on those lower frequencies you noted.
