I'm using a Imax 2000 with a ground plan kit and I'm thinking about switching over to a beam antenna. My problem is that my wife don't want a big antenna on the roof. She's don't seem to mind the Imax. Is there a small beam antenna on the market at a good price.

There's no getting around physics: the higher the frequency the smaller the antenna. You could have a pretty small antenna up above 70cm., but at 27 MHz it will be much larger.

Don't forget that a beam implies a tower...you can't ground mount a yagi and expect it to work and/or be safe.

Grab a copy of the ARRL Antenna Manual and study the subject.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
