I know that my longwire antenna should not be touching any metal. But is it ok to solder ends of copper wire together?

I've got 4 strands of 100' 18AWG insulated copper wire. I want to solder them together (that means 3 spots soldered). Is this ok or will it mess with the antenna?

How else would you connect them?

Just use enough heat-- long strands of copper are excellent heat sinks!
