Definetly would recommend you take it to someone that knows what they are doing. Especially because if it's a DX series the board doesn't like to be tortured with "blow-torch" soldering skills, and it could easily cause the radio to become inoperable.

I decided to go with the RCI 2950DX radio. I purchased it brand new in a sealed package. I personally installed the jumper supplied with the radio to enable 11 meter operation.

My question is I would like to improve the modulation swing. I am very happy with the radio in stock form , however, with the dead key at 2 watt setting to drive my Palomar 450 the swing is very slight. I like the very clean audio the radio has now, and I am not looking for some loud over-modulated trucker garbage audio, just like a little more swing into my amp. Is it possible for myself to make an adjustment to improve this ? I have a fair modulation / watt meter. Also, I absolutely do not want to risk shortening the life of the radio or finals etc.

Thanks In advance <img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/posticon36.gif ALT=":36">
