The meter lamps on the TL-922A are pretty dim to say the least and a friend said I should try a LED upgrade. Well I found some directional LED Bulbs that are inexpensive and should do the trick.

Upon arrival I knew I would have to remove the LED from the metal socket base.

After removing base

Next I had to modify the rubber bulb holder in the amp which was pretty easy with an Xacto Knife.

Ok next I soldered the wires on and heat shrinked them.

Now the end result, you can see it is much brighter and the needle pops right out at you, almost looks florescent orange. The blue is actually much nicer in person. The photo does it no justice.

It only took about 20 minutes for the one side and I took the picture so you could see the contrast .. Simply amazing !

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
