Kenwood TM241A Question

I was reading here: Kenwood TM-241A Specifications that the Kenwood TM241A apparently switches to AM for receive in the aircraft band if you look at the modes of operation specs on the site that I cited above. Is this true?

yes, it will RX A3E (AM) 118 - 174 MHz

I would have to assume that it does. The civilian VHF AC band is all AM.

Question...Will it transmit AM on these frequencies if the MARS/CAP mod is done to this rig.
