Lafayette Basestation Telsat 1000

Does anyone remember the Lafayette Base Station Telsat 1000. My father had one when I was a kid. He also had two mobiles.

Nope, but I remember my Telsat SSB-140! I really liked that radio!

... and to think that some of us (me) used to put up with those old, freq. drifting boat anchors. Inserting xtals into front panel sockets and VFO tuning to the proper channel... sheesh! I've had a few of them in my high school days ... can't say that I miss any of them... including the Browning Eagle setup. The Tram 201 was nice but someone long before me hacked it pretty badly and it never worked right if at all. I gave up on it... was too far gone to return to a worthy radio.

I have one and it still works great... Painting the case for it now... It's got a little wear on it but thats to be expected for it's age...
