I thought the whole reason for running QRP is to make contacts with low power.
Doesn't hanging a power amp behind QRP sort of defeats the purpose?

Again, from what I have seen, it is the guys that go portable on a mountaintop with qrp, but have an rv that they get there in. They want a smaller amp for limited space when they are stationary or at the rv park. Other guys get the qrp rig on the cheap, then just want more power.

QRP can be a lot of fun. People that use it as an excuse for being piss weak have given it a bad name though.

I think you guys are holding DX Engineering in too high of regard! Like all business it's first priority is to make money for it's shareholders or owner! So this should not surprise anyone not wet behind the ears. When it comes to rf amplifiers if companies really gave a darn they would not sell at least 2/3 of the junk they sell. Retail price point, profit margin, demand and availability is what drives things not quality, design or some artificial morality.
