LSB and USB on the S meter on the Stryker 955

Just quick one, I dont use sideband as much as Id like to but noticed a probably anamoly in the S meter reading when using either LSB or USB on this radio.

I noticed when I unkey the mic in SSB modes , the Sig meter shows 2-3 bars of db all the time, it occurs everytime I unkey the mic. Even if I turn the power and mic gain down all the way same thing. Doesnt do it in AM mode.

only thing is see is the bottom row 1 bar lighting up thats your swr

Is that the audio (hiss) slightly higher and then dropping as well?
Maybe AGC response is slow?

I think you're right. The agc on the 955 I had seemed slow or maybe the meter response was just slow.

When a strong station keyed up the s meter would max out for a second or 2 and then settle down.

The meter does I beleive have a slow refresh rate.agreed.

So my 1db or so of incoming signal on the s meter shows every time I unkey ?
