My magnum is new works fine on am but when on ssb the analog and digital meter do not peg out when I key the mic. doe this need to go back for repair?

on ssb they probly wont move till you actually talk and make some modulation

There is no carrier on SSB, it's all modulated watts. The meter will not show any output until you speak.

The meter does move but not much.. When I speak into the mic .

Is this the omega force that magnum puts out?..if it is go to cbradiomagazine, it shows a lot..
Also open your mic up remove 2 screws, you will see the little circuit board..turn it over and you will see a pot which you can adjust turn it up 3/4 of the way, should work then..

with the mic on it's front, back off guts facing you turn the pot all the way to the left then use the mic gain to turn down, my Omega sounds it's best with the mic gain knob on the radio at half way on SSB. Not sure about AM just because I don't talk on AM. What a great radio for SSB. Every time I sell one that I have I miss it in a few days and start looking for another. My fav is the one with the rfx 75 and the white meter background
