Magnum S9-175 One Year Later

After a year of use this is an update on my S9-175
Antenna Used - Siro TURBO-5000PL

This radio continues to be a real performer. I continue to get great reports and the receive is still very quiet when compared to my former Stryker 447. I will say this has got to be one of my better radios that I have used. I still use it only on AM but for driving the highways that’s all I need.

At one time I had a Wilson 5000 but switched to a Siro 5000 PL and the Wilson isn't in the same league as a Siro in my opinion. Also I have had zero issues with this radio.
I have an S-80 as a backup and I am thinking of installing a SX-350 Power Module.
I have watched the values of these radio go up recently as attested by eBay sales. I am sure there are better radios but for me I am sold on the Magnum S9.

I think most of the magnum radios are out of stock now, Maby the Raptor 111 thats about it from what I see online.

Glad you're having good luck with your S-9. I have an OmegaForce S45HP and a 257HP, both of which I think are great rigs. I remember you going through some "retro" stuff to match up with your classic truck. Where did you end up mounting the Sirio?

The Siro is a mag mount and is serving me well.

My 70 C10 (Pictured) I am going to use a AR3500-100w mobile and I have an NOS Avanti Hippo that I will mount on my mirror.

Those radios have been long gone as I was told.
I called as I have a friend who wants an S9.
The lady I taked to heard Magnum may re-manufacture some of the S models.
Who knows?
