Hows it done and where to buy.....I like the ones that are white and then turn red when you key up the radio.

I think all that is would be an extra red light added to come on when you key the mic, there is no color change. I thought you were talking about the meter lights that cycle from green, yellow, orange, red, blue, and so on.

You could probably check out an old Galaxy 99 or Magnum S9 and see what parts they add.

Most of the old Realistic Navajo bases had this feature. Check the schematic for a TRC-458 to see how it's done. Pretty simple really.

I have an old Pearce Simpson SSB rig that does that. It is white on receive, red on transmit. Not sure how it's wired up to work, but it is two different bulbs. A good tech should be able to figure that out for ya.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
