Hey all,

I have been fiddling with a midland 13-898B for awhile trying to figure out why it is so far off freq on a few channels. For example, channel 14 transmits at 27.104 instead of 27.125mhz. The frequencies are either pretty close to on freq, or they seem to be around 20 low. I almost wonder if someone messed with the channel selector wires? I can try to provide more info if anyone has any leads. I have checked all crystal markings and there seem to be no substitutions in this radio, aside from two I swapped with an identical freq marking.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
