Hi I've recently purchased a Midland 4001 Am Fm 120ch percision series from eBay.

The radio at first impressions is working OK. However I'd like to perform an alignment after the recap is complete, but im struggling to find any service data for the radio.

It's definitely a Maxon chassis with PCB No. 4819O2C. Mfg Oct 1980.

I'm guessing the chassis was perhaps used in other radios. Any help would be greatly welcomed

Thanks in advance

Hi Woody and thank you for the link. Sadly it's not the 120ch version and the manuals contains no service alignment data. I had hoped it might have had a similar chassis.

I might just have to wing it with the alignment. I can see whats the TX and RX sections on the board.

The only part I might not be able to do is the VCO lock voltage.

Thank you again.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
