Got my RCI back from the shop it is working good but.. I am getting 9 s units of junk on ssb but here people fine when there talking but when there done talking it meter jumps back to 9 units.
Is there a mode the tech and I missed? what I ended up doing was turn down L16 till I found a balance between the static and single

You might call the tech and find out what all he did to the radio. Is it on every channel and all the time or just certain channels at certain times of the day? So AM & FM are fine?

yes it is on every channel and 26,*** to 29.000mhz
AM/FM is fine sounds good, just as much but no more static as my Washington and cobra 29 on AM. Receiver sensitivity seems to be all around good compared to my uniden Washington on SSB. I was told by a guy to turn down L16 till it drops down to 1to 2 s units and I can still here people just as well as when I have 9 units of static..

It was this way from the day I got it. the shop did do work on it as the transmit is excellent now. everything else seems to be spot on.

I was going to call them and ask but wanted to get some ones opinion here first that may have dealt with radios that may have mods that have been missed.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
