Mystery diode in McKinley

Hi,
I want to ask a question about a President McKinley I just purchased. I was getting ready to fit it my vehicle when I heard something rattling around inside. I opened it up and found this little diode and two clear sleeves. I hooked up the radio and it appears to be fine.

Has anybody seen this diode in their McKinley, if so where does it go? Or maybe this fell in during manufacturing? I'm at a loss...

Went Googling and found it. It appears to be installed in the radio.
See photo I found online. Not clear enough to see where it is soldered to?

If US and you can't find a better pic ill pop mine open this weekend and get a better pic.
