I would like to align this radio but cannot find the information anywhere. Any help is appreciated. It's a Midland 77-202b "black max".

this is a very common chassis and there are a bunch of other radios that use the same board and PLL chip. GE and Colt are two of the brands that used this board.

the closest radio to what you have (alignment will be exactly the same) is the Cobra 90LTD.

here is a service manual for it that will allow you to align the radio:
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobra/90ltd/graphics/cobra_90ltd_sm_pg01_15.pdf

here is an owners manual for the mobile version of your radio, there is a schematic at the end:
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/midland/202m/graphics/midland_202m_om.pdf

these two sources should give you everything you need on that radio.

Thank you very much LC!
you are very welcome MK121, we all have to do our part in documenting all these old chassis here on the ol internet.

maybe you can take a few pics of the PC board (top and bottom) and put them here in this thread.
that way when someone else comes across one of these things a a garage sale, they will come here and find a bunch of cool info!

best of luck with it.
one piece of advice, the VCO tuning slug is a different size than the rest of them, and can crack very easily. don't adjust it at all unless the radio isn't holding a solid frequency.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
