Alinco has announced the new DJ-V57T 2m/440 HT which is clearly intended to compete directly with the Yaesu FT-60 and Icom T-70A.
This new 5 watt dual band HT operates on one band at a time much like the Yaesu and Icom competitors. Built to IPX7 standard, it is submersible in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Another interesting feature is a two-step attenuator. The radio reportedly has 200 memories, a receive range of 136-173.995 MHz and 400-511.995 MHz. Dimensions are 2.28 x 4.33 x 1.43 inches. With the stock battery, weight is 9.6 oz.
