New meter light

I'm trying to replace a meter lamp in a cobra29 with another wheat lamp how do I match up the leads?The wires are both Red.I purchased a new meter w/bulb.

those lites are not very smart so you can trick them and connect them either way.

What I do is fire the radio up and use a test meter to find the polarity.

That will do the trick for you.
