NEW

uhh, well I have not gotten it yet. I bought one off of ebay from loosecannon. He mailed it out the other day, so I should get it pretty soon.
It is a Cobra 29LTD classic, that he has replaced a lot of the parts with new parts.

I also ordered a heavy duty power cord as well, as per loosecannon suggestions.

again I am new to this stuff, so when it come in I will be asking a lot of questions.

Speaking of Questions...
Can an antenna ruin your CB? I plan on getting a good antenna, but I have an old one still in the package from the 80s that I would try, so I do not have to spend much more right now.

Well to Start

Welcome aboard

Lots of good people here
Ask many questions ( is how we all learn)

What antenna is it you have put away in the box from the 80's

You can hurt your radio with an antenna that is installed wrong. Basically, the antenna needs to be adjusted to make sure it's set properly for the CB band. Your Cobra 29 has an SWR meter built into it which is to help you figure out how to adjust the antenna. If you're not sure how to do use the SWR function and adjust the antenna, let us know and we'll walk you through it.

Thank You,
I will try by reading the directions first, and ask any questions if I do not understand. It reads pretty simple, (meaning, I will probably ask questions)

The CB came in Yesterday. Guess I need to figure out where I will put it.
I am still waiting on a power cord I ordered for the CB.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
