Hi. I recently bought a very nice 2950 from another forum member through the Swap Shop. I would like to do the CB Channel Readout Mod. I found the instructions on the net. They seem very straight forward. 1- Locate J1. There will be a jumper on pins P1-P2. 2- Remove jumper and place on P2-P3 3- Press Lock Button on front panel. The readout is now displaying CB channels numbers 1-40. Also will display "A" channels. 4- Press Lock again to return to VFO. Where is J1? Is it easy to get to? I thought this would be a easy thing to do. just remove the bottom cover and J1 would be near the front of the radio. Any Help out there? Thanks!!!

Look on the faceplate panel. It is not on the main board. It is just a small three pin jumper plug with a black flea clip shorting two pins.

Thanks Captain ! ! ! Worked the first time. L@@king at the radio head on. The jumper is left of center if anyone is interested. :sneaky2:

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
