opening clarifier on EPT690010Z based radio ??

i have a VIRAGE-67 export . it has AM and SSB capability . how would i go about opening the clarifier on this ? i got it used a couple of years ago .

unlocking the clarifier requires that voltage be supplied to it during transmitter operation.

is that something someone with very basic soldering skills could do IF they knew the correct procedure ?
could you possible describe the correct way to do it in VERY laymens terms ?
pics or links with pics like a Dr. Seuss book would be appreciated . LOL
