Palomar 300a question

I use to know a local cb'er who had a palomar 300a and man it was aweome it did about a 1000 watts but all the one's i see for sale only do between 350 and 600 watts, where can i find one that does a 1000 watts??

Buy a Dosy meter to go with the amp......BAM, you have 1000 watts.

The 300A is probably the best of the commercial made sweep tube amps for CB. Its not a horrible amp (like the skipper), but it also doesn't do a KW as designed. Abuse it, and it might.

You will get more out of that amp on the "LOW" side (just the four finals) when you drive it with something. The "High" side (2 tubes driving 4) doesn't do as much. The amps with 8950's put out more than the 6LF6's.
