Patriot-12 and a matcher

I am running a Patriot-12, a 12 foot two piece fiberglass whip base antenna I am planning one day to upgrade but not for a while. What I have for SWR is just under 2 with the tunning rings maxed to get this reading. I am using a antenna matcher and it zero's it out. Am I gaining anything from using this and is it at least better for my 148GTL running the zero'd out SWR's?

Your radio will 'like' that "zero'ed" SWR more than having SWR. That doesn't say anything about how well that antenna will perform though. It would be better to 'cure' the problem than use that tuner. But if you can't find the problem, then that tuner will do just fine to make the thing usable until you do.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
