Does anybody remember these?
They weren't much to look at, but gosh could they talk!
I had one back in the 70s with a Turner Plus 2 mic and a CLR2 GP 30' in the air and loved that setup. Wish I had it today!
At some point they came out with a Guardian 23B, but I can't remember what the difference was. The two radios looked exactly the same.
I eventually upgraded to the Pearce-Simpson Simba with a Turner Plus 3, and while it looked fantastic, it just couldn't hold a candle to the Guardian on AM. Guess there's something to be said for tubes.
