Friend came over today with pegged out SWR. The PL259 on the mini 8 on the Wilson 5000 was spinning around and that didn't seem right so I replaced that for him with all-new. SWR still pegged. He has the 5000 Magnet up on top-center cab with coax running down back of cab, up underneath and up through back seat floorboard through a weather port as is typical. So I get to looking around to determine what the problem is and checked underneath. Some slack had developed in the coax and it was laying right on top of the muffler and completely melted through....had to pry the coax off that sucker.

So be advised of this situation. When running coax underneath vehicle make sure it's attached in numerous placed with rip ties or other secure fasteners so it can't slack down onto hot surfaces. Don't use tape. Tape will go bad.

For under vehicle cable runs I always ran it inside a piece of BX electrical cable armor. It is also called flexible EMT. I pull the electrical wire out and run the coax or trailer wires etc inside. It protects it from heat and stones. I had coax cable get cut completely off twice going to a bumper mount before I started doing this and never after.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
