i have one of these sitting around from my car show and car audio days..

Intelli-Power PD9160A 60A Electronic RV Converter/Charger

we used to run these for hours to keep the systems going (3000w) and the batteries from dying..
wondering if it can be applied in the creation of a base setup or do i need a designated "switched" PS? i've also seen them used in audio shops to power the boards (head units and amps for customer presentations)

again, thanx!!!

I have an Iota 60 amp that is a switching ps has a fan will put out 13.8 volts also just slightly higher if you install a supplyed jumper, also has a quiet variable speed fan no meters mine was a low cost solution to power a TS350hdv it works great and sounds like what you have.

I don't have batterys conected.

No batterys conected. I think mine also had some option for smart chargeing of batterys. They are for campers etc to charge batterys and run there 12 volt lighting etc This is so much quieter than my MFJ 4225 mv The mfj sounds like a window shaker airconditioner. I have it behind the glass door on my computer desk with a second quiet 12v fan to pull the heat out the back. I am ready to ditch it and use the 60amp Iota with both radio and amp.

ya originally i was thinking of using it for a radio and prob a small amp as well..
i just picked up a 2950dx which came with a pyramid r/ps that i'm thinking of using as my base rig...
now i'm thinking of just using it for an amp. antenna options are limited so i'm pretty sure she'll need the help of a shot or two of whiskey. hopefully there won't be any surging to the outgoing signal

appreciate the feedback gentlemen :)

looks like a nice setup mr_fx :)

based on the reviews they are incredible for the money...

I was running an old PC Power and Cooling 510 Turbo-cool SLI power supply, modded over to 13.8v it would do a solid 34 amps... cont and up to 45ish peaking... sadly I blew it up trying to force the 12v leg to run more power... by overloading the 5v leg

oh well right
