power supply help

The 36 amp supply is a switching type, and I have had experience with some of those being very noisy with RF hash noise all over the band. Now, bear in mind the switching supply I was using was NOT designed to run radios, so no shielding was involved by the maker. If you have a noisy switching supply, there is pretty much nothing you can do about it after the fact. That's why I was skeptical when I saw the price on that supply until I read the entire add. The thing is designed to run radios, has a temp regulated cooling fan, and a two year warranty? That is a fantastic price!

They Pyle supply is prettier of course, runs about the same output and features, but no cooling fan and it's bigger in size as well, but it is a linear type supply so there will be no RF has noise. Twice as big, twice the price and probably not any better than the "Mega Watt" switching supply.

Considering Electronics-5000 has a 100 percent positive feedback on over 2700 transactions I would give it a try.

Let us know which one you choose and how it's working for you!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
