The Voltage and Wattage (WVDC) rating is one thing...

Physical Profile - lead dress and size - are another too...

Temperature is another.

Some caps work just fine is linear power supplies for quite a while - it's when you run into Enclosures and latent heat spreaders too close to the cap - they may not like it - like excessive gassing caused by heat and power "exercise" the caps can get under heavy load and surges can push then envelope.

And the Heat rating being 85C or 105C can make a difference in surviving in a harsh environment. When I say harsh, doesn't mean high heat, but humid and damp as well as electrical surges load switching and inadequate ventilation

Always replace the caps NOT ONLY with same Values, Profile and working WVDC but with SAME Temperature ratings or HIGHER if you can afford it.

Personal experience here...

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
