picked one up used on ebay for 31 bucks. same board as the uniden pc122, president ar144, and cobra 146. Radio needed cleaning but found to be in great shape, she was a virgin as well. was found to be dead on freq on ssb and am was fine. the nb/anl is great and the rx is very good on these radios!!! I keep going back to these older radios for the reliabilty and rock solid performance, (price aint bad neither). I know it isnt a hi powered export, but I would take one all day long over the exports for basic am/ssb 11m operation. She was doing 4w swinging 10w on am and 14w ssb. after a simple tune up and diode mod, I got her setup doing 1/2wdk swinging 20w on am, and 28w ssb. no clip. with the mod v I have a 20w dk swinging 150 on am and 150 on ssb.
I moved my 257 in the house for base operation, dont get me wrong, I still love the 257. It can do more things for sure (thats why its on the base) but mobile all I need is a good 11m rig and this one fits the bill. pics coming soon.
