Hi guy's i have two cobras, 25. anyway tried them both and i have no movement on the needle at all. when i keyed up the mic both of them the red light comes on but no movement. can anyone help? thanks.
I dont disagree with RatsoW8 but I have a question is there an easier way to check output with out a wattage meter?
Maybe an OHM meter laying around?
Reason why I ask is, You go spend money on something to find out your stuff is broke. You gonna spend more to fix it? Plus ive got an Ohm meter and a wattage meter it may tell me if one is lying..
Did you use the same Mic?
Same Power supply?
Did Meter Lights come on?
Have the radios been modified?
Id just make a quick check the connections havent come loose on the board or meter.
cheap SWR/Power meters are readily available at truck stops for around $20-$30.
You might also want to try this, hook up the antenna, turn to channel 19 and say, break one nine for radio check.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
