Being a major company, I believe Maxon out of Korea made them during the switchover period to 40 channels. The Maxon 40 is almost identical except for the 40 channel selector and PA switch. Look to see if yours has a PLL. With a little redesign of the front (channel selector moved to the center), the 40 channel Dak Mark II is also a similar Korean made product that Dak outsourced. I have one of those that needs a little TLC. I wouldn’t be surprised to see other odd name Korean clones show up.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
