Theres an 11 meters guy in Wisconsin near me that runs an Icom 765 he was telling his buddies 0n 11 meters that his Icom IC-765 sports a quadruple conversion receiver?? is this true is this radio really that much better than my Yaesu FT-990 base?? Or all my Yaesues and Kenwoods? Ive never heard of a quad conversion receiver

They are in fact quad conversion. See page 54 of the manual for full specs.

They actually use the same IF freq for the second and forth IF stages which is kind of odd.It is quad conversion for all modes except FM where it is triple conversion.Generally the greater the conversion the better it will be for rejecting strong out of band signals but just because it is quad conversion does not mean it is any better than a triple conversion rig especially in this case where the same IF is used twice. If there is any leakage from one of those IF stages then......

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
