Radio conversion- Crystals- would it work?

I recently bught a raytheon Ray48A marine radio telephone. i finaly got it working and i was wondering when i opened it up that if i could put a different crystal in it and make it so i can transmit on radio stations. either fm or am. or what would i have to do. or could i do that with a cb. or what can i by a cheap kit. i am really intrested thank you.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
