RCA Mark VII- Early Crystal controlled Base station Questions

I recently purchased a 4 channel crystal controlled RCA Mark VII tube base station. It has a 4 channel crystal controlled transmitter. The receiver can be tuned by either a 23ch VFO or four receive crystals. The radio has been recapped, works and sounds great, but the 4 channel limitation of the transmitter poses a problem. Crystals are expensive, and I'd rather not have to switch crystals constantly in order to transmit on different channels. Would it be possible to modify the radio so that the receive VFO could be used to set the transmit frequency? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
