A friend of mine just aquired a 2950DX and was wondering if Ranger makes a add on pack to make it a 2970DX like mine.
Any ideas?

something that could easily be done is too find a dead 2970 and swap the bottom heatsink and amp out an add it to the 2950. Most likely the amp would be fine if the radio is dead. But when the swap is made, Be sure to detune the 2950 because there output will overdrive the 2970 amp. 2 watts swinging 12-15 would be plenty to drive the 2 2290's. good luck
There is a kit availible to add 100 watts to it. It is not from Ranger . I had one and sold it. I do not remember the mfg.
the 2970dx is a single final radio driving the built in 2 pill.
2950dx is a dual final high power radio.

Thats a pretty dumb idea, if ya want a 2970 then go buy one. Not trying to be a *rick but come on, thats like saying I have a 4 cld Camaro and I want an IROC Z with a 350. Can you semd me a conversion kit......lol.

He's in a great position then since it was free. He can run it and buy a decent 2 pill amplifier, or sell it and buy a 2970. The amplifier option would be best and give him the most options to expand and so on.
