I have a RCI-2985DX and am very happy with it. It has nice loud clean audio. It works great on AM as well as SSB. The frequency stability seems rock solid. I use a DM-452 or 575m6 mic and both sound great. The variable RF power is nice if you intend to use a low drive amp. Im using a "NOS" MS-119 Super Scanner antenna with great signal reports.
All in all its a great radio.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
