RCI Serial Number question???

How do you tell what year a RCI radio is made by just looking at the Serial Number? I know on my Kenwood TS-850 you just subtract 2 from the first digit of the serial number and that gives you the year.

Such as my Kenwood S/N is 70,xxx,xxx so you subtract 2 from 7 and you get 5. So it was made in 1995.

Does this apply to the RCI brand? I was told it did, but I wasn't sure.

Thanks!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
