This past weekend I went to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles to check out some cool cars. To my surprise, they had a new display of the early evolution of car communication technologies and one of the units shown was this Realistic CB-FONE 23 in pristine condition. Check it out!

As I recall, Johnson had one as well. I had a friend that had one of them in his car for a while. In those days if it looked like you had a mobile radiotelephone you'd be pretty cool...I guess..

Edit: Here ya go. Messenger 130A

I have a Realistic HT with a handset just like that one in the shed. I used to have that same radio too, no idea what happened to it.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
