As my first radio... I can only say WOW it's small.

There appears to be a lot of technology packed into this tiny device, it's simply amazing that technology has progressed this far. I remember seeing radios/CB's when I was a kid and they were huge!

I've been reading the manual at work and learning how to program it so today after it's charged I'll fire it up and give it a try. I have no plans on transmitting yet as I don't have a license but I'll tune in some of the police frequencies and see if I can listen in at lunch.

I also got the docking station charger and the corded hand mic. Sad to say I do the mall cop thing with my motorola radios while mountain biking, putting the cord up over my back and attaching it to my MULE so I got it so i can put the radio in the pack and use remotely.

Ordered a wall charger for the dock and what arrived was the wrong one so I'm going to drive by their location tomorrow and swap it in the store.

Are their any features I won't need to turn on with this device or better still, features I'll want to configure first?

thanks
jake

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
