Im at the motorola facility for a few weeks and was wondering if there are any decent local shops?

Only one that comes to mind is AES in Milwaukee. Maybe I have been out of the CB world to long but the Chicago area seem a waste land when it comes to CB shops.

Ranger had a warranty repair place around Chicago. Guy did good work. He used to work for Dynascan.

Believe me, I have the food portion of the trip covered! I was just wanting to see what some of the big city shops had to offer. Sounds like we have more shops on the Delmarva peninsula then here in Chi town.

I don't know if you are a ham or not but a couple of repeaters in the area are:

146.760 - PL 107-2 CFMC
443.750 + PL 114.8 CFMC 440

Both of these will give you the best coverage in the Chicago Area.

As for the shops, CB died slow death here and the channels are not that active (except when the band is open).

Monee isn't that big so don't blink but they used to hav th best fish fry there.

Soundwerks in Northlake just past Bensenville on Grand Av. Nice old guy with wierd hours if hes still open. Pricey but he has to be cause he dont sell anything. 847-451-0787 see if hes still around. The big one used to be Rays electronics in Bensenville but he moved to Addison in 95 and dropped ALL cb stuff.
