There was hours of short skip on the evening of (Friday) 7/7/17. I've heard the word sporadic E thrown about for this (short skip phenominum.) I've also head sporadic E is and only should be used in the context of VHF as it defines a particular phenomenon that takes place on VHF only. Is this true? If so would the phrase short skip be technically correct for HF? I'm in NJ and most of the other (short skip) was from New England.

Whats your location? If you live near the coast you can also experience Tropospheric Ducting. Most of the data is for VHF/UHF. I have always thought "Tropospheric" conditions play a role in some evening time north south skip we get on the west coast.

I've had this happen 3 times that I remember on 11 meters. The first was a guy in San Antonio, TX (230 miles), the next was around Oklahoma City (180 miles) and a few days ago I heard someone in Commerce, TX (85 miles) on 28.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
