Silver Eagle 2 piece head

Hi. I took the backplate off my D104 - 2 piece head, and noticed there were no rubber spacers holding the MC320 in place, just a small square of foam stuck on the back and the wadding at the front, dld Astatic only use the spacers on the earlier 3 piece head...?

I had one in the mid 70's, never pulled the head apart but never had any trouble with it, was my all time favorite mic.

AFAIK the curved rubber pieces should be there...at least they have been on every D104 head I've disassembled.

I got ahold of a couple today in a deal I made, (one silver eagle & one black and gold), the one curved piece of foam rubber was in both (at the bottom) I believe this is to keep the wires from getting pinched, between that and the screw sleeves it seems to hold the element in place fine.
