speaker popping

Anybody know why ya can hear a slight popping sound in the speaker when somebody keys on the rx end?
When the volume is up it is louder.

You could be hearing the contacts on the other person's mic engaging. Or, perhaps the speaker you're listening on is really small and can't handle the audio output of the radio. Or maybe the speaker is shot - take a look a the center cone and see if there are any tears.
