speech separator speakers?

I hope I didn't screw that one up too bad? I'm not sure exactly what they're called. But, I was wondering if one would be a worthwhile investment to compliment a ground plane base set up. I wouldn't think a separator would be as necessary with a beam. Do they work really well? If so, what are a couple of the better ones, and how much do they go for?

It's very diffucult (when talking skip), to pull one bumble bee from the other, outta' that crowded bee hive.
