This week, Surfin’ solves the mystery surrounding our little friend -- the battery.

When I was a kid, I had a love-hate relationship with batteries. I loved those circa-1959 D- and C-cells when I powered up a toy and that toy performed as expected. I hated them when I powered up a toy and nothing happened.

The writer states he hasent had any batteries corrode his equipment lately. He must live somewhere cold. I have batteries leak quite frequently, and I take care of my equipment. I can't count how many good quality flashlights and portable radios I have had ruined by leaking batteries. ( hurricane country, ya know) I also noticed several years ago that battery makers no longer include ANY guarantees on their batteries with regards to leakage like they used too.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
