How well would Two OG slinky's work for swl? sorta like this except i may use different hangers...Slinky Jr. Shortwave Antenna With FM Scan Radio With Light | eBay
Lame
The one nice feature of a slinky antenna is that it is quite variable in it's loading properties. It can be made resonant over a very wide frequency range just by stretching it some more. That's also a very terrible feature unless you can keep the spacings between coil turns where you want them! You can't let it move around in the wind or it isn't even close to what it was a second ago. That's not so bad if all you do is listen, but if it's used as a transmitting antenna... it'll -never- stay tuned for any one spot.
See where that can go?

The Slinky was even a dumb idea for a toy. Someone just found a way to re-package junk for another reason - to sell something - and nothing more. Same is true for the 'Slinky' SWL antenna idea. Amazing that they even tried to peddle it as a TX antenna too. LOL. Waste of time and money - IMO. Two thumbs down . . .
