If it works, it is worth $10. If you like to talk AM mode only, then it is fine. Should be great for that.

ya i picked it up for $10. know i need to find a antenna set up for my appartment. i have been looking at some 11m bipole's.

For $10 if it works and you can have fun with it, then it's probably worth it. You can make a dipole antenna for next to nothing, and it will work fine, as long as you don't expect miracles.
