I do use a power mic on mine. An Extreme 2018 works well on mine as does a Barjan 325-58.

Be careful wireing another mic as pin 6 is 13.8v. Just a word of caution.

thanx peddler for the important safety tip. who sells these plug ends? what do you do about the channel buttons just cap the wires? do they have to be connected ?

The channel up/down can be left un-wired, Premire Elec, 1 Stop, Bob's, and even Radio Shack if they have anything left will or should have a mic plug.

Has anyone done a swing mod for this radio? How about replacing the stock mic with a bigger power mic?
