I've been using the 458 daily since several of the members helped me get it sorted a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. A proper alignment wouldn't hurt I'm sure especially since I recapped it but the bias is spot on at least. DK 4, swings 20, excellent reports.
A friend made me a deal on the SSK which I also recapped and wired a fresh 5 pin plug. It took a bit to finally realize at least in my case that it actually sounds best with the bottom gain almost all the way down and the volume pot about midway. Touchy on the Navaho apparently. So many questions I searched on the ole internet led me right back to these forums. Go figure.
Having a blast with this barefoot radio on the scrap wire antenna and y'all helped. About 200 bucks in this whole rig.
